Our Clinics

Our practice offers a series of nurse-led clinics dealing with chronic conditions. These clinics are run by the practice nurse, Sister Jane McKenzie.

Our healthcare assistants, Mrs Janice Smart and Miss Karen Murray, assist the nurses in running clinics for new patient registration, chronic disease blood monitoring, blood pressure checks and other specified basic tasks.

Our clinics include:

  • COPD (emphysema)
  • Heart disease
  • Asthma
  • Family planning
  • Cervical screening
  • Bowel cancer screening
  • Vaccinations
  • General lifestyle advice
  • Taking blood samples
  • Travel health service

Routine appointments can be made with our practice nurses for any of the above clinics by calling 0141 531 6490. At present, only doctors’ appointments can be booked on-line.

From time to time you may be invited to attend by letter.

We also offer a number of Enhanced Services, including:

  • Gold Standards Framework palliative care programme
  • Blood and urine monitoring for patients on drugs for arthritis and bowel disease
  • Annual flu vaccination programme for over 65’s and vulnerable patients
  • Longterm contraception, including implants, injections and coils
  • Methadone shared care programme for drug dependent patients

A number of other specialist outreach clinics and services are available within the wider health centre; for example Sandyford sexual health clinic, Primary care mental health services, physiotherapy, podiatry & X-ray.
